The Giant website and app are offline after a cyber incident at parent company Ahold Delhaize. Here’s what’s open, how to get coupons, and what we know about data.

October 17, 2026 – Shoppers across Pennsylvania who rely on The Giant Company for digital coupons, online grocery orders, and delivery have been without those services since Monday, Oct. 12. As of Friday, Oct. 16, the Giant website and mobile app were still down following a cybersecurity incident at parent company Ahold Delhaize.
Here is what customers need to know about the outage, the data question, and how to shop while systems are down.
Why are the Giant website and app down?
Ahold Delhaize, the Netherlands-based company that owns Giant, Food Lion, Stop & Shop, and Hannaford, disclosed on Monday that it was dealing with a cybersecurity issue within its network. The company took some systems offline as a precaution, and the Giant website and app went down with them. Food Lion, Stop & Shop, and Hannaford sites and apps were affected too.
This article covers The Giant Company, based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. It is a separate company from Giant Food, the sister chain in Maryland, which Ahold Delhaize also owns.
Are Giant stores still open?
Yes. Giant stores, pharmacies, and fuel stations remain open during normal business hours. The disruption is mainly to online ordering, delivery through Giant’s own platform, and coupons that load through the app.
How can I get deals and order groceries?
- Coupons: Giant says it is making it easy for customers to still get savings, and stores have posted signs saying digital coupons will be automatically honored.
- Delivery: Orders can be placed through Instacart, DoorDash, and Uber Eats.
- Refunds: Any unfulfilled orders placed through Giantfoodstores.com or the Giant app will be refunded.
Is my data safe?
Ahold Delhaize says that although its investigation is ongoing, it has no evidence at this time that customer, associate, or partner data was taken. The company says it is working with internal teams, outside cybersecurity experts, and authorities as necessary. It has declined to share details of the incident so as not to compromise its security measures or response.
For context, Ahold Delhaize disclosed last year that more than 2.2 million customers of its U.S. stores were affected by a separate data breach in November 2024.
When will the website and app be back?
Neither Ahold Delhaize nor The Giant Company has given a timeline. Ahold Delhaize said on Tuesday that it had begun a “controlled relaunch” of certain systems and is working to restore affected systems safely. In the meantime, the Giant website displays a notice that the site and app are unavailable and that the company is working to restore service as quickly as possible.
